In4ra Work Experience Initiative

Sponsor a work-experience placement

We host supervised, structured placements for students and jobseekers, arranged through colleges, universities and Jobcentre Plus. Sponsorship funds the supervision, training and tools that make those placements worth doing.

What sponsorship is, and what it isn't

In4ra is a business, not a registered charity. Sponsorship is a commercial arrangement: you support the programme, and we give you recognition in return. Payments are not charitable donations, are not eligible for Gift Aid, and are not tax-deductible as charitable giving. Amounts shown include VAT at the prevailing rate. A VAT invoice is issued for every sponsorship.

How Placements Work

Arranged through an institution, not advertised as jobs

Placements come to us through a college, a university or a Work Coach, so every one is properly supervised, counts towards a course or programme, and starts with agreed objectives. Placements arranged this way are unpaid, because they form part of a course or a government-supported scheme. We do not ask anyone to work unpaid outside a recognised placement scheme.

The Programme

Supervised placements, structured from day one

Every placement has a named supervisor, a weekly check-in, and agreed objectives set with the institution that arranged it.

Where Sponsorship Goes

How sponsorship supports the programme

Sponsorship goes towards making placements safe, structured and genuinely useful for the people on them.

Supervision & Mentoring

Pay for a dedicated supervisor who plans tasks, reviews work and provides one-to-one mentoring throughout the placement.

Structured Training

Fund short courses and learning materials on IT basics, cybersecurity hygiene, ticketing systems and remote support best practice.

Practical Project Time

Cover the cost of supervised, billable work where trainees assist on real tickets under engineer oversight.

Equipment & Licences

Buy or refurbish laptops, headsets and necessary software licences so every trainee can work safely and effectively.

Travel & Subsistence

Provide small travel stipends so placements are accessible to young people from lower income backgrounds.

Safeguarding & Compliance

Fund DBS checks, insurance and onboarding checks required to host young people in a professional environment.

The Programme

Supervision & training model

A structured, milestone-driven programme that builds real competency — not just work shadowing.

Week 1

Onboarding

Induction covering company policies, health and safety, data protection and basic IT tools.

Weeks 1–8

Learning Plan

A 4–8 week syllabus with weekly goals, practical tasks and short assessments.

Daily

Supervision

A named supervisor allocates tasks, observes work, and signs off competency milestones.

Weekly

Feedback Sessions

Structured feedback sessions and a final review with a certificate of completion and a skills summary.

Final Week

Employer Readiness

CV help, interview practice and a short reference for each trainee to support next steps.

Why It Matters

What the programme delivers, and for whom

For the person on placement

  • Real-world exposure to live tickets, customer communication and workplace routines
  • Hands-on experience with remote access, ticketing, basic networking and endpoint troubleshooting
  • A verified reference, skills summary and interview practice
  • Workplace etiquette, time management and problem solving under supervision
  • Clearer pathways into apprenticeships, entry-level roles or further study

For In4ra & the community

  • Early access to motivated candidates who already understand your tools and culture
  • Visible social impact that strengthens local relationships and brand trust
  • Supervised trainee hours can offset routine tasks, freeing senior engineers for higher-value work
  • Broader access to IT careers for underrepresented groups and improved local economic resilience
